WHAT IS THE TWO EMUS PROGRAM?
Two Emus is a program that nurtures you and your business into long-term sustainability and success. Each placement lasts for 4 months.
During your 4-months with us, you’ll recieve:
- 4-month intensive business skills program.
- Stylised individual business support pathway, focusing on building identified weaknesses.
- Goal setting & milestones achievements
- Access to BECNT business support & online learning tools.
- Up to 2 hours per month one-on-one sessions with BECNT mentors plus weekly email & phone support with BECNT Mentors.
- Regional remote clients will have access to 2 one-hour zoom meetings per month & weekly phone & email contacts with BECNT Mentors.
- Access to expert advice (up to four hours) – accounting, legal, marketing, or other specialised services.
- Final exit progress report and suggestions for future development.

To win a place at Two Emus, you’ll have to complete Startup September, which is a series of free workshops held during September which takes you from business idea to being ready to launch.
At the end of the month, you’ll have the chance to pitch your business to our panel of mentors to win one of six 4-month placements at Two Emus.
Yes. If your business is early-stage, and you have completed Startup September, you will have the chance to pitch for a place.

Our mentors are based in Darwin and Alice Springs, but you can take part from anywhere in the NT and receive the same level of support online.
Startup September is run by Business Enterprise Centre NT, who have been providing business mentorship to our 6,000 members and the NT business community since 2000.
We’re a team of Business Mentors who have all owned businesses and who care deeply about the success of individual business owners, and the success of the NT economy as a whole.
Originally, we planned to provide office space to incubatees. However, it looks like we’ll unexpectedly have to change premises.
In order to avoid any disruption to the businesses on businesses joining us for Two Emus, we’ve decided to run Two Emus as an intensive business support program for this year.
